Two late goals help Real Madrid get past RB Leipzig

Defending champions Real Madrid has won their second consecutive game in the UEFA Champions League. After beating Celtic in the first game, Real Madrid has now beaten the Bundesliga side RB Leipzig. Both the teams met each other on Wednesday night at Santiago Bernabeu (Real Madrid’s home ground).

The away side (RB Leipzig) controlled the defending champions well but couldn’t do it till the end. Real Madrid started off well. They were playing like their last game which was against Celtic. However, Carlo Ancelotti’s men were finding it difficult to find the net. The first-half went goalless as either side failed to find the net before heading towards the tunnel.

In the last second half, Real Madrid’s star midfielder Fede Valverde scored the opener and that was some goal from him. That goal lifted Real Madrid players and they find the second one 10 minutes later when the clock went to the injury time.

The second goal for Real Madrid against RB Leipzig was scored by right- midfielder Marco Asensio. The goal from him sealed the victory and three points for the champion side. They (Real Madrid) are now sitting comfortably at the top position in their group.
