Umesh Yadav replaces injured Mohammad Shami for the T20I series against Australia

Indian pacer Mohammad Shami has tested positive for COVID-19 and thus been ruled out from the three-match T20I series against Australia. Kolkata Knight Riders’ pacer Umesh Yadav replaces Mohammad Shami in the Indian squad for the upcoming T20 series against Australia. Indian pacer Umesh Yadav is back in the squad after many years.

Umesh Yadav believed that he will be back in the team. Umesh Yadav was one of the important pacers for India in the World Cup 2015. He performed very well in the World Cup under MS Dhoni. Umesh was brilliant in the IPL 2022 in the KKR jersey. At first, the pacer was unsold as he no team was ready to bid for him. Later, when the unsold list players were presented in the mega auction, KKR bought them in his base price.

Despite the pacer has been added to the Indian squad but it is highly unlikely that the pacer (Umesh Yadav) will make it into the starting XI in the Australia’s series as India are going with some experienced pace bowlers.
