We don’t deserve to play in the Champions League: Xavi Hernandez

FC Barcelona played a UEFA Champions League game on Wednesday night, 12th October in their home stadium (Spotify Camp Nou). They were against Inter Milan who defeated them last week in the competition. Barcelona came out on the pitch to take revenge but couldn’t do it as they faced a disappointing draw against Inter Milan. The game ended with a scoreline of 3-3, thanks to Robert Lewandowski’s goal in the stoppage time which helped them earn 1 point.
Barcelona needed a win to be in the competition and to go into the next round but the situation is now more difficult for Xavi’s men. Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez wasn’t happy with the team performance and was very angry to see that they couldn’t win the game. Xavi in the post-match interview said that his team doesn’t deserve to be in the Champions League, the way they played this season.
“I’m very disappointed, sad, frustrated. I’m angry. I have to be self-critical, we don’t deserve to play in the Champions League. It hurts me, but it’s the truth,” said Xavi Hernandez in the post-match presentation, shown on FC Barcelona’s official app.
