“We will not travel to Pakistan,” says BCCI secretary Jay Shah
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that Indian cricket team will not be traveling to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023. As per the reports, the venue for the next year’s Asia Cup is Pakistan and Indian cricket board is not convinced with this decision and has made their own decision of not going to Pakistan for the tournament.
Asia Cup 2022 happened in UAE and this was won by Sri Lankan cricket team after they beat Babar Azam’s Pakistan in the finals. BCCI secretary and ACC President named Jay Shah has cleary said in his statement that India will not travel to Pakistan for the next year’s Asia Cup as the neutral venue for the tournament is unprecedented.
“We will have Asia Cup 2023 at a neutral venue. It’s the government which decides over the permission of the team visiting Pakistan so we won’t comment on that but for the 2023 Asia Cup it’s decided that the tournament will be held at some neutral venue,” said BCCI secretary Jay Shah as reported by ANI.
Indian Cricket team is currently in Australia to play the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
