Asia Cup 2022: Rohit Sharma rested; KL Rahul to lead the side against Afghanistan
Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma is not playing the Asia Cup game against Afghanistan which is to be played on Thursday, 8th September. Afghanistan and India, both are out of the Asia Cup 2022 as they lost games in the super 4. The Indian cricket team is playing without their captain Rohit, all-rounder Hardik Pandya, and Yuzvendra Chahal who were involved in the playing XI in the last game.
Indian opening batter KL Rahul will be leading the side in this game against Afghanistan. As both the teams are out of the competition, they could have played with some young teams but Afghanistan didn’t change their team for this game. Afghanistan played their last game in the Asia Cup 2022 a day before which was against Pakistan. Pakistan beat them by 1 wicket to confirm their exit from this year’s Asia Cup 2022.
There are three changes made in the team as Dinesh Karthik is also back after he was rested for two games. Indian pacer Deepak Chahar who replaced injured Avesh khan in the squad after he got injured is also added to the Indian playing XI on Thursday.
