Rohit Sharma confirms the opening batters for India in the World Cup
Indian cricket team will play the first T20I against Australia on Tuesday, 20th September in Punjab Cricket Association stadium. Indian cricket team will be playing three T20Is against Australia and then South Africa. Ahead of the first T20I, Rohit Sharma had a pre-match Interview.
In this interview, Rohit Sharma talked about many things not only about this particular series against Australia but also about the World Cup. Rohit Sharma also confirmed who will be the two openers for India in the upcoming T20 World Cup starting in the month of October.
Rohit Sharma says KL Rahul will open with him in the World Cup. KL Rahul hasn’t had his form back since he has been back from his groin injury. Still, India thinks KL is the best option for them in the opening with the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma.
“KL Rahul will open the batting in the World Cup, his performance sometimes goes quite unnoticed. He is a very important player for Team India. For us, I just want to make it clear, that we are clear in our thought process,” said Rohit Sharma ahead of the first T20I against Australia as reported by Hindustan Times.
